This data cable is a three-pair communication and control cable designed for use in electronic equipment, measurement and regulation systems, and machinery wiring. It is intended for occasional flexing in dry or damp environments and provides a Compact routing option where small cable diameters are required.

What conductor material and construction are used?

The conductors are bare copper arranged as fine-wire multi-strands with seven strands per 0.34 mm² core to balance conductivity and flexibility.

How does the cable perform under repeated movement?

It is specified for occasional flexing with a minimum bending radius of 10 x the outer diameter to avoid mechanical stress.

What insulation and sheath materials are employed?

Core insulation and outer sheath are both PVC, with the sheath coloured pebble grey (RAL 7032) for Visual consistency.

How is the cable electrically characterised for signal work?

It has an inductance around 0.65 mH/km and an operating capacitance of approximately 120 nF/km, suitable for control and communication signal transmission.

Note

YY cable is not suitable for fixed wiring applications requiring compliance with the requirements set out in BS7671.
