Centigrid® RF Relay - 172, S172 and GRF172D Series
The 172, S172 and GRF172D series of Centigrid® relays are ultra-miniature, hermetically sealed, DPDT armature relays designed to be used in many RF applications. A low profile height and grid spaced terminals - which prevent the need for spreader pads - make them suitable for use when close PCB spacing is required. With a low inter-contact capacitance and contact circuit losses, the 172, S172 and GRF172D series of Centigrid® relays are an excellent ultra-miniature RF switch for frequencies well into the UHF spectrum (see datasheet for performance curves).
The 172 Centigrid® relays are PCB THT (see stock numbers 351-459, 351-465, 351-471, 758-2436, 758-2423, 758-2427), the S172 and GRF172D Centigrid® relays are PCB SMT (see stock numbers 220-863, 220-942 and 758-2473). In addition to the standard types there are the 172D, S172D and GRF172D relays which have an internal discrete silicon diode that provides coil transient suppression.
The GRF172D (stock number 758-2473) features a unique ground shield that isolates and shields each lead to ensure excellent contact-to-contact and pole-to-pole isolation. This ground shield provides a ground interface that results in improved high frequency performance as well as parametric repeatability.
Applications include telecommunications, test instruments, mobile communications, attenuators and many other RF and data switching functions.
