StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 5m Cable Length, OM4 Fibre Type - 450FBLCLC5PP

This Fibre optic cable provides high-speed multimode connectivity for data-centre and enterprise environments. It features LC/UPC duplex terminations with push-pull tabs for Rapid insertion and removal in dense patching panels. The cable uses laser-optimised OM4 multimode Fibre with a 125μm core construction and is sheathed in a low-smoke zero-halogen jacket suitable for enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces. Operating temperature range supports varied installation conditions.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps capability supports high-throughput links
• Bend-insensitive Fibre reduces attenuation during tight routing
• LC/UPC ceramic ferrules improve coupling and insertion loss
• Retractable housings permit toolless polarity swapping
• TIA/EIA-568 tested for measured insertion loss compliance

Applications

• Suitable for multimode Fibre cable for data centres
• Used with SFP+/QSFP+ and QSFP28 transceiver modules
• Ideal for high-density patch panels and Fibre switches
• Used for 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet backbone links
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments such as trains

What temperatures can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C for both operation and storage.

How does the connector design assist dense installations?

Push-pull tabs allow quick access and the aqua colour coding prevents polarity errors.

What optical performance can be expected at 850nm?

Modal bandwidth is 4700MHz/km with attenuation approximately 2.4dB/km at 850nm.

Is the cable compatible with legacy multimode standards?

The OM4 Fibre is backwards compatible with OM3 and supports 1/10/40/100G links.

What safety attribute addresses smoke and toxicity concerns?

The jacket is low smoke zero halogen to limit fumes during combustion.
