StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 8m Cable Length, OM4 Fibre Type - 450FBLCLC8PP

This Fibre optic cable is a multimode OM4 jumper designed for high-speed network connections in dense installations. It features LC/UPC duplex terminations and a low-smoke zero-halogen jacket to reduce toxic emissions in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces. The cable supports VCSEL and LED sources at 850nm and 1300nm and is suitable for use across contemporary 10/40/100GbE network infrastructures.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps capability supports high-throughput links
• 50/125μm core provides multimode compatibility
• Bend-insensitive Fibre sustains tight routing
• LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic fumes
• Push-pull tabs enable Rapid connector removal

Applications

• Suitable for data centre Fibre switch interconnects
• Ideal for SAN links requiring high bandwidth
• Used with SFP+/QSFP+/QSFP28 transceiver modules
• Can be used for 10GbE and 40GbE uplinks

What temperatures can it operate within?

It operates between -20°C and 60°C.

How does the cable support polarity changes in the field?

Retractable strain-relief housings permit toolless polarity swapping.

What loss and bandwidth performance should be expected?

Attenuation is 2.4dB/km at 850nm and modal bandwidth is 4700MHz·km at 850nm.

Which standards does the Fibre meet for compatibility?

It is tested to meet TIA/EIA-568 industry criteria.

What construction element improves connector alignment?

Ceramic ferrules are used to ensure precise Fibre alignment.
