StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 3M Cable Length, Aqua Jacket - 450FBLCLC3PP

This Fibre optic cable is a 3M OM4 multimode jumper designed for high-speed links in dense network environments. It connects LC/UPC to LC/UPC ports and is suited to installations requiring tight routing and low smoke emissions. The jacket is Low Smoke Zero Halogen and the Fibre supports VCSEL and LED sources at common multimode wavelengths. Operating conditions cover typical server‑room and enclosed‑space temperatures.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps support enables high‑throughput network links
• 50/125μm core reduces modal dispersion for VCSEL sources
• Bend‑insensitive construction preserves signal through tight turns
• Push‑pull tabs allow fast insertion and removal in racks
• Individually tested insertion loss meets industry performance

Applications

• Suitable for 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet connections
• Ideal for data centre Fibre patch panels and switches
• Used with SFP+/QSFP+/QSFP28 transceiver modules
• Can be used in SAN interconnects requiring tight bends
• Suitable for enclosed environments with reduced smoke risk

What temperatures can it operate within?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C.

Which wavelengths is the Fibre optimised for?

It is optimised for 850nm and 1300nm LED/VCSEL sources.

How does the jacket improve safety in confined spaces?

The Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket emits reduced smoke and toxic fumes when exposed to fire.

Is the connector alignment designed for low loss?

Ceramic ferrules with UPC polish improve alignment and return loss.

Does it maintain performance with legacy multimode systems?

The OM4 Fibre is backward compatible with OM3 and common 10/40/100G deployments.
