StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 10m Cable Length, Aqua - 450FBLCLC10

This Fibre optic cable provides duplex multimode connectivity for high-speed network environments. It connects LC/UPC terminations and is laser-optimised for 850nm and 1300nm VCSEL and LED sources, delivering compatible performance across 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps links. The jacket is Low Smoke Zero Halogen to reduce hazardous emissions in confined installations, and the cable is CE approved for conformity with relevant standards.

Features and Benefits:

• 2000MHz·km modal bandwidth at 850nm delivers extended reach
• 50/125μm core/cladding enables high-density multimode transmission
• LC/UPC ceramic ferrules reduce insertion loss for stable links
• LSZH jacket minimises smoke and toxic gases during combustion
• Attenuation under 2.3dB/km preserves signal integrity over distance

Applications

• Suitable for data centre high-throughput uplinks
• Ideal for SANs and fibre-channel storage networks
• Used with QSFP+ and QSFP28 transceiver modules
• Can be used for 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps Ethernet interconnects

What temperature range can it operate within?

The cable functions between -20°C and 60°C for both operation and storage.

How is polarity identified on the duplex cable?

The zip-cord design uses colour-coded TX/RX connectors for quick Visual identification.

What safety benefit does the jacket provide in confined spaces?

The Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket emits reduced smoke and fewer toxic fumes when exposed to heat.

Which Fibre classifications does it support for backward compatibility?

The OM4 multimode construction is backward compatible with OM3 and supports legacy 1/10/40 Gbps networks.
