SICK RE13 Series Safety Interlock Switch, IP67, 2 Safety Contacts - RE13-SA64

This safety interlock switch is a non‑contact magnetic sensor intended to monitor guard positions in industrial automation. Designed for system integration with safety logic units, it provides a Compact protective function suitable for harsh environments and automated processes. The actuator is included and the unit connects via a 4‑pin M12 cable for straightforward installation.

Features and Benefits:

• IP67 enclosure rating provides protection against dust and immersion
• 2 safety contacts enable direct monitoring with low‑current loads
• Reed contact outputs support switching at ≤30VDC and ≤100mA
• Operating range -30 to +60°C sustains variable ambient conditions
• Flexi Loop compatible allows safe series connection with diagnostics

Applications

• Ideal for monitoring interlocked guard doors on production lines
• Suitable for series safety circuits requiring diagnostic feedback
• Used with magnet‑actuated guards in material handling systems
• Can be used for safety monitoring in pick‑and‑place cells
• Suitable for environments needing vibration and shock resistance

What connection type does it use?

It uses a cable with an M12 4‑pin plug and a 0.2m cable length.

How does the sensor detect the actuator?

It operates on a magnetic sensing principle with reed contact outputs.

What mechanical resilience does it offer?

It withstands vibration at 10Hz to 55Hz with 1mm amplitude and shock up to 30g for 11 ms.

How is fault behaviour handled?

The switch lacks internal fault detection so the connected safety logic unit must perform fault monitoring.
