Illuminated Push Button Switch - EAO 31 Series

The EAO 31 series of illuminated push button switches are suitable for use in many Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel mounting applications including Process Control, Panel Building, Machinery and Instrumentation. The illuminated push button switches are available in a choice of round (18mm diameter), square (18x18mm) or rectangular (18x24mm) bezels with snap action or low level switching elements with momentary or maintained switching actions.
The snap action switching element is a self-cleaning, double-break, snap action system with solder terminals, while the low level switching element is designed for switching low power loads in electronic circuits ranging from 10μA at 100μV up to 100mA at 42Vac/dc, termination is via universal terminals that allow either direct soldering or PCB mounting.
Illumination for the EAO 31 series of push button switches is via a T1 midget groove filament lamp or single chip LED with a voltage of between 6 and 48V. For supply voltages above 48V, it is necessary to use an external series resistor.
All EAO 31 series of illuminated push button switches require a 16mm panel cut out and are suitable for panels with a thickness of between 1.5 and 6mm. They have a long life, short rebound time and a stable contact resistance.

Various configurations available including low level or snap action elements, momentary or maintained switching actions and normally closed or normally open contacts
    Raised button profile
Self-extinguishing switch and actuator housing material
    Class II compliant
Electric strength 2500Vac 50Hz for 1 minute between all terminals and earth, as per IEC 60512-2-11

    Note

To make a complete illuminated switch you will need the switch, a lens and a filament lamp or LED.

EAO Push Button Switch, Momentary Switch Action, NO Contact Configuration - 31 Series - 31-425.036

Looking for a reliable way to control your industrial equipment? Choose this push button switch from EAO. As it's a momentary switch, it only activates your machinery when pressed, making it a good choice for controlling short-term processes. The illuminated head makes it easy to determine its operating status at a glance. Its gold-plated silver contacts are highly conductive and resistant to corrosion for effective switching.

    Features & Benefits

    • IP40 rating means it's touchproof and protected against tools and wires larger than 1mm in size
    • Supply voltage of 42V makes it suitable for use in low-power systems

    Applications

    • Process control
    • Panel building
    • Industrial operations
    • Electronic devices
    • Domestic appliances

    How does momentary actuation work?

When the button is pressed down, the contacts close to complete the electrical circuit and activate a linked device. Once you release the button, the contacts open and break the circuit.

Why should I use a temporary switch for certain equipment?

Some applications, such as industrial shredders, need manual operation and constant supervision. This push button switch helps ensure that dangerous machinery is only activated when operating conditions are safe.
