StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 2m Cable Length, Yellow - SMDOS2SCSC2M

This Fibre optic cable provides single-mode connectivity for high-speed network links, designed for short interconnects in data centre and enterprise environments. It features SC to SC UPC duplex termini and a low-smoke zero-halogen jacket for installations where reduced toxic emissions are required. The cable supports laser-optimised wavelengths for long-distance transmission and is suitable for use where bend tolerance and low insertion loss are necessary.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3dB insertion loss for minimal signal attenuation
• 55dB return loss to maintain signal integrity
• 1260 to 1625nm Wavelength range for CWDM compatibility
• Bend-insensitive core for tight-bend installations
• LSZH jacket reduces toxic emissions in enclosed spaces

Applications

• Suitable for 40G/100G links between switches and servers
• Ideal for data centre rack-to-rack connections
• Used for CWDM channel transmission across long links
• Can be used in enclosed transport installations such as trains
• Suitable for connecting storage arrays to fibre-channel fabrics

What temperature range can it operate within?

It is rated to operate between -20°C and 60°C.

How is connector alignment achieved?

Ceramic ferrules are used to ensure precise Fibre alignment and low loss.

What construction improves bend performance?

A low refractive-index layer around the core reflects escaped light back into the Fibre to reduce loss when bent.

What testing accompanies each cable?

Each unit is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report.
