StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 15m Cable Length, Green - LCLCL-15M-OM5-FIBER

This Fibre optic cable provides multimode connectivity for high-speed network links. It is a 15m LC-to-LC duplex jumper using OM5 50/125μm laser-optimised multimode Fibre with LC UPC terminations. The jacket uses low-smoke zero-halogen material suitable for installations where reduced toxic fumes are required. It is specified for operation across a wide temperature range and tested to recognised industry insertion loss standards.

Features and Benefits:

• 850 to 953nm VCSEL support enables SWDM for increased channel capacity
• 4700MHz·km modal bandwidth improves short-reach performance
• 0.3dB insertion loss reduces signal attenuation across links
• LSZH jacket limits toxic emissions in enclosed spaces
• 30dB return loss enhances connector reflection performance

Applications

• Suitable for 40Gigabit and 100Gigabit Ethernet deployments
• Used with SFP+/QSFP+/QSFP28 modules in high-density racks
• Ideal for SAN interconnects and fibre-channel links
• Can be used in confined spaces such as transport cabins
• Used for migrations from 10G networks to higher speeds

What core dimensions define the Fibre geometry?

The Fibre uses a 50/125μm multimode construction with a 125μm cladding diameter.

What environmental temperatures can the cable tolerate during use?

It operates between -20°C and 60°C and may be stored within the same range.

How is connector alignment ensured to reduce loss?

Ceramic ferrules provide precision alignment and the UPC polish improves return loss characteristics.

Which industry standard verifies insertion loss performance?

Each cable is tested to meet the TIA/EIA-568 industry standard.

How does the cable support legacy multimode systems?

OM5 is backward compatible with OM4 and OM3, enabling use with existing 10G infrastructure.
