StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, OM3 Fibre, Aqua - A50FBLCSC1

This Fibre optic cable provides a short‑reach multimode connection for high‑speed network equipment. It links LC and SC interfaces using OM3 50/125μm multimode Fibre within a Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket, designed for use in installations where reduced smoke and toxicity are required. The assembly supports full‑duplex transmission and is suited to backbone switch, hub and router interconnects in varied building environments.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps capacity enables very high throughput connections
• 50/125μm OM3 Fibre supports laser‑optimised transmission
• LSZH jacket minimises smoke and halogen emissions during fire
• Insertion loss below 0.3 dB reduces signal attenuation
• Temperature range −20°C to 60°C maintains link stability

Applications

• Suitable for SAN and server interconnects in data centres
• Used with SFP+ and QSFP+ modules for high‑density ports
• Ideal for backbone runs between switches and routers
• Can be used in schools and central offices with strict codes
• Used for broadband and telecommunication links requiring OM3

What connector types does it have?

It is terminated with an LC duplex connector on one end and an SC duplex connector on the other end.

How does the cable perform across wavelengths?

The Fibre supports transmission at 850 nm and 1300 nm using LED/VCSEL sources with modal bandwidth 2000 MHz·km at 850 nm.

What mechanical protections are included?

The cable contains an aramid sheath for tensile strength and crush resistance around the 50/125μm fibre.

Which standards does the Fibre core comply with?

The core is manufactured to TIA/EIA multimode requirements and has attenuation under 2.3 dB/km.

What physical attributes affect installation?

The cable has a 2.9 mm outer diameter, static bend radius 3 cm and dynamic bend radius 6 cm.
