The RS Pro Cat6 cables are unshielded twisted pair high signal integrity cable type often referred to as Cat6 UTP. Most cables are unshielded, relying on the twisted pair design for noise rejection. These are often used in computer networks providing a gigabit connection speed. Snagless boots are used to help protect the plastic clip on top of the connector but also helps stop the cables getting stuck by the plastic clip catching on to other cables when removing cables from installations.
