TinySwitch-4 series Offline AC-DC Converters


A range of energy-efficient, off-line AC-DC converters from Power Integrations. The TinySwitch-4 series combine a high voltage power MOSFET and ON/OFF flyback power supply controller in a single Compact package. These devices have excellent no-load and light-load efficiency and extremely fast transient response and are available in both through-hole and SMT options.

• Line compensated overload power reduces maximum overload variation over input voltage range

• Simple ON/OFF control, no loop compensation needed

• Selectable current limit through BP/M capacitor Value

• Self-biased: no bias winding or bias components

• Frequency jittering reduces EMI filter costs

• Pin-out simplifies heat sinking to the PCB

• Accurate hysteretic thermal shutdown protection with automatic recovery

• Auto-restart delivers <3% of maximum power in short-circuit and open-loop fault conditions

• Extended creepage between MOSFET drain and all other pins

• Easily meets all global energy efficiency regulations

• No-load <30 mW with bias winding, <150 mW at 265 VAC without bias winding
