Use this inductive proximity sensor from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range in your machine for non-contact detection of objects within its vicinity. It's designed to detect objects within a 12mm range. This long sensing range allows for the sensor to be mounted further away from the target object, avoiding damage from impact.
