Hex keys are considered a household necessity, especially those who prefer to have flat pack furniture. A hex key is most commonly used to drive and remove screws and bolts that have hexagonal sockets in their heads.

Did you know?

A Hex Key is commonly referred to as an Allen Key, this is because Allen was the original manufacturer of the Hex key.

Also, a hex key can be reconditioned using an electrical grinder, or similar type of equipment. Through removing the worn out part, the hex key has the capability of functioning like its brand new again – Although this type of maintenance should be minimal if the hex key is cared for and kept in a good condition.

Note

You can also purchase Hex key sets, e.g. 794-7836 7 Piece set
