Use this magnetic safety switch from Schmersal's BNS33 series on machine guards in hazardous industrial environments. It has a safe switch-on distance of 5 mm and switch-off distance of 15 mm, so it doesn't need direct contact to be activated. The switch is housed in a reinforced glass-fibre thermoplastic enclosure to protect it from mechanical wear.
