Cable Ties

Cable ties - also known as zip ties, tie wraps, wire ties, or hose ties - are used to secure, fasten, and separate cables and wires for safety, identification, and organization. Cable ties are typically single use: they’re cut to remove rather than released and reused, but reusable cable ties are available for more sustainable cable management. Cable Tie Strength

At RS, we list all our cable tie products with their tensile strength converted to Newtons (N) for easy comparison. While definitions of ‘heavy duty’ can vary, we classify any cable tie with a tensile strength of 750N or greater as ‘heavy duty’, following industry guidelines. Always check the product datasheet for precise ratings.

How to Use a Cable Tie

Insert: Place the cable tie around your cables and thread the pointed end through the head.
Tighten: Pull the tail to tighten until secure. Trim off the excess tail for safety.
Remove: To remove a single-use tie, cut with scissors or side cutters. Forreusable cable ties, release the latch and remove.
