Eaton Bussmann's offset tag fuses (or offset bolted tag fuses) are essentially a cylindrical fuse that is fitted with offset brackets, these brackets allow the fuse to be bolted onto a fuse holder. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage measure. This British Standard fuse from Eaton is a weak-link device that prevents current overloads, overheating and short circuits. It has a cylindrical body with a thin offset tag at each end.
