For flexibility, this component is compatible with both plain and stepped shafts. On a plain shaft, you can position your bearing anywhere. However, on a stepped shaft, use an L-shaped spacer ring to help you quickly and easily achieve precise axial positioning. Once the sleeve is in place, simply slip it into the bearing's tapered bore.
