Towards a Better Future

Our B-BBEE journey has always been about more than compliance. It reflects our active role in addressing historical inequalities and building a better future for all South Africans. Through the Inqolobane Investment Trust, we have ensured that 25% of RS South Africa is owned in a way that benefits the community, with Qhubeka Charity as a key beneficiary.

Qhubeka has provided over 105,000 bicycles, empowering children to access education and transforming lives at a grassroots level.

Multicultural Management Matters

Transformation extends to leadership. Over the years, we have worked to ensure that our senior management team reflects the rich diversity of our country. Building a leadership team with varied experiences and perspectives has enabled us to not only drive innovation but also understand and meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities.

Purpose-built Procurement Strategies

At RS South Africa, empowerment extends to our procurement practices. We actively source from black-owned businesses, QSEs, and EMEs, contributing to a more inclusive supply chain. Our Supplier Development programme also provides new and existing vendors with the resources they need to grow sustainably, while strengthening the broader business ecosystem.

We believe transformation begins with creating opportunities, which is why skills development is central to our initiatives. Through our Learnership programmes, we equip learners with the skills needed to succeed. Our bursary scheme empowers young black university students, providing them with access to higher education and the support they need to reach their career goals.

Our commitment to transformation also extends to the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme, where we focus on tackling youth unemployment by offering valuable training and workplace experience to South Africa's future leaders.

EMPOWERMENT JOURNEYS

Learnership Programme

Since 2017, twenty-one unemployed learners and six employed learners have been supported, with two learners successfully absorbed into permanent employment.

Bursary Scheme

Forty-five students have been empowered through our bursary scheme, receiving financial assistance to pursue university studies, supporting the growth of a skilled and diverse workforce.

YES Programme

Forty-four young individuals were sponsored and provided with essential skills to enhance their career prospects through a 12-month workplace experience and training programme launched by the Youth Employment Service (YES!).

Our Transformational Brand Allies

Stock Donations

We have donated electronic and industrial components valued at over HALF A MILLION rand to various universities, supporting the enhancement of engineering labs and contributing to the advancement of education.

Collaborating for a Brighter Future

We partnered with the University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Engineering to host a STEM workshop at Portland High School. Forty learners were introduced to engineering by building and programming Micro drones and hovercrafts, with guidance from UCT student volunteers.

This initiative is one of the key examples of our commitment to education and innovation, empowering the next generation of engineers.
