Gateways

Gateway modules offer network connection, power supply terminals, address coding switches and I/O Assistant interface. Gateways process data traffic and generate diagnostics information for the higher-level control system. Gateways allow connection to standardized fieldbus systems, such as PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, CANopen and INTERBUS. To change to a different fieldbus system, only the gateway needs to be exchanged; the layout of the I/O field level remains as it is. The XI/ON concept includes programmable gateways. With this concept, data is preprocessed in the XI/ON station, which relieves traffic load from the fieldbus and the control level. Power supply requirements, 24Vdc
