The Osram Lumilux T5 HO series of fluorescent tubes are high output. They have a very high luminous flux and are designed for ECG operation. These fluorescent tubes are ideal in systems with motion sensors and daylight dimmers and can reduce energy consumption.

They meet standard T5 sizing and feature a 16 mm diameter, with a G5 base. Lumilux T5 HO fluorescent lamps are dimmable and offering good colour rendering (falling in the 1B group for colour rendering).

This range of high output fluorescent tubes can achieve an average life of up to 24000 hours and a service life of 18000 hours when used with hot restart ECGs.

Fluorescent tubes give off a brighter light than halogen bulbs. They have low running costs and a long lifespan so no need to worry about replacements making them suitable for a number of applications. Which colour temperature to pick?
Fluorescent tubes are available in a variety of colour temperatures which describes the light appearance provided by a light source. It is measured in degrees of kelvin (k) on a scale from 1,000 to 10,000:
2700 – warm white – ideal where relaxing and ambience lighting is needed
4000K – cool white – lighting ideal for a kitchen
+6000K – daylight – very sharp, lighting ideal for a working environment

Which cap size?

A lamp breaking is extremely unlike to have any adverse effects on your health. However, if a lamp breaks, you should ventilate the room for 30 minutes before removing the parts (preferably with gloves on). The parts should be taken for recycling at your local waste facility.
