Weller Soldering cleaning sponge is a single layer sponge used for cleaning your soldering iron tips. The cleaning sponge will fit into the WSP 80 soldering iron stand. It is important when soldering to keep the tip clean, especially when using a lead-free solder. Soldering iron tips build-up oxidation and this must be removed as the tip will no longer function as required. Cleaning tips with a sponge is often referred to as Wet Cleaning.
