It's designed for use with RS PRO Hydraulic Hand Crimping Tool (445-885) and is suitable for use with wires with a maximum cross-sectional area of 35 mm². The dies are convenient to use as they use hydraulic action to provide the necessary force, meaning there's no need for a power supply.
The dies meet the requirements of electrostatic control standards in the United States (ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014) and Europe (BS EN 61340-5-1:2007), ensuring that they won't damage equipment via electrostatic discharge. This die set is commonly used for crimping cable terminals onto flexible and stranded cables in utility services, telecom systems and panel building.
