Introduction

DesignSpark is an online community where engineers will find a large repository of resources to help them with their designs, including free design tools for PCB layout, electrical CAD and 3D design along with a library of component models and space for sharing ideas.

These free design tools are downloadable via the site and include the award-winning DesignSpark PCB layout design tool, and the DesignSpark Mechanical 3D modelling design tool. Supporting both of the tools is one of the industry’s largest online databases of free engineering models. Including schematics and PCB component libraries, in addition to a large archive of 2D and 3D CAD models in many formats including PADS, OrCAD, Altium and CADSTAR among others, so that every customer will be able to find models to easily import into their design. A wide range of other tools are also available including schematic aids, circuit simulation and other software development tools.

The Design Centre area within DesignSpark includes resources for leading development board platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino and mbed, as well as other areas for 3D design and open-source development.A wide range of supporting content is available, including blogs and product reviews of the industry’s latest product developments.
